This event took place on 1st August 2024 and was attended by radiotherapy research colleagues from Middlesbrough, Newcastle and Carlisle, as well as colleagues from the North East and North Cumbria Clinical Research Network.
The event was an opportunity to recognise the work and achievements of staff, as well as agree our future priorities and develop a plan about how we can achieve these.
Before the session, stakeholders were asked to complete a survey to help us set our research and clinical trials priorities. Building the radiotherapy research workforce, increasing recruitment to clinical trials and research, and generating and attracting new investment came out on top.
Some key practical suggestions to improve access to information about clinical trials for patients were discussed. We will be working on this to make more information available for patients on the network website.
